I was wondering if this group was more into fighting or role playing or a combination of both. I just moved to this area and noticed several different groups that swordfight. Trying to decide which is best, so any info would be great.
Thanks

Greetings,
I was wondering if this group was more into fighting or role playing or a combination of both. I just moved to this area and noticed several different groups that swordfight. Trying to decide which is best, so any info would be great. Thanks Gutz |

Our group is heavy combat oriented. We encourage hard hitting, physical combat. We only have a limited amount of roleplaying, which is is essentially our garb
and unit/realm/persona affiliations. The local Amtgard group, Western Gate, is more into roleplaying as their game is designed around it. Both groups exist
harmoniously, as our main practice is on Saturday and theirs is on Sunday. I would suggest that you give both groups a try before deciding what is for you. If
you would like to speak on the phone a bit to get a feel for things, send me a number and times to reach you to mikhoc@earthlink.net
Hope to see you on the battlefield soon!

Are there any other groups that fight on sundays? I work alot of saturdays, but I can get off every so often. Im looking for more fighting, but a little
role playing, and a friend of mines boss told me about you guys, I guess he used to fight with you or something. What sort of garb do I need, and what are the
units?

Actually we have a group that fights at the Wash U campus on Sundays (a duchy of the Kingdom if you will) as well as the main practice on Saturdays at Forest
Park.
As Angmarth said we are more comabt oriented but there is a certain aspect of roleplaying that goes along with Belegarth as it is. I know i am not really a knight in a kingdom called Arnor, in fact i am rather far from it. For us it is really more getting to play an adult version of 'cowboys and indians' and we find ways to express what sort of inner warrior mentality we would like to have through our garb, armor, and weapons we use. When you come out the best thing to do on your first day is wear a plain colored t-shirt, plain colored sweat-pants, high ankled shoes or boots, and bring a belt, we usually provide the rest and i hope to see you out there. By the way my 'fighting name' as we call it is Griffith so good choice on the name bro! BERSERK RULES! -Sir Griffith

Tanath is from Amtgard, but plays with us on occasion.
Amtgard is a more role-playing centered group, but have combat as well. If you aren't sure how much role-playing you would like at your game, I really suggest you give both groups a try before deciding which one you would like to be a part of. PS - As Griffith stated we have a group that meets on the Wash-U campus on Sundays, so you should have no problem giving each group a shot if you are so inclined.

There is also my group, which fights on Sundays in Lake Saint Louis, at Boulevard Park (if you drive on LSL bouleavard, you will see the sign). We start at
about 4:30 or so, and go till it's dark.
If you live out west of the city, might be an option. -Olos Brother of the Black Company |
